It’s theater’s most wonderful time of the year: Tony Awards season! In anticipation of the 70th annual Tony Awards this Sunday, June 12, take a look back at the Tony Award-winning turns from War Paint stars Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole.

Both LuPone and Ebersole have won two Tony Awards each in the distinguished category of Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical. LuPone won for the title role in Evita in 1980 and for her bravura turn as Mama Rose in the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy. Ebersole won her first Tony for her performance as Dorothy Brock in the 2001 revival of 42nd Street and her second in 2007  for originating the dual roles of Little Edie and Big Edie in Grey Gardens (which features the same writing team and director as War Paint.)

Get a taste of LuPone and Ebersole’s Tony Award-winning performances and acceptance speeches in these videos, then see these two stars live on the Goodman stage in War Paint beginning June 28!
