This June we’re thrilled to be producing the world premiere of War Paint starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole. Performances start in just eight weeks!

4. This is a WORLD PREMIERE. Chicago audiences will get to see War Paint. Not New York, Not London, CHICAGO!

3. It’s based on the true story of Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden.

Cosmetics pioneers Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden were business titans in the early 20th century. Brilliant innovators with humble roots, both were masters of self-invention who sacrificed everything to become the country’s first major female entrepreneurs. They were also fierce competitors, whose 50-year tug-of-war would give birth to an industry.

2. War Paint is from the acclaimed Broadway team of librettist Doug Wright (Grey Gardens, I Am My Own Wife, The Little Mermaid); composer Scott Frankel and lyricist Michael Korie (Grey Gardens, Far From Heaven); and director Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then and Grey Gardens).

Seriously this is what you call a DREAM TEAM. These artists have created some of the greatest stories seen on Broadway in the past 30 years.

Doug Wright won the Pulitzer Prize AND Tony Award for his play I Am My Own Wife. Composer Scott Frankel and lyricist Michael Korie’s work on Grey Gardens was nominated for a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. They also wrote the music for Far from Heaven and many more amazing shows. And director Michael Greif directed the original Rent on Broadway. Remember Rent?! It was a game changer! Since then he was nominated for a Tony for directing Next to Normal in 2009 and most recently directed Idina Menzel in the hugely successful If/Then.

We just can’t even breathe… there are no words… BROADWAY ROYALTY at the Goodman!!!
